Karachiites demand due rights, not alms, says Naeem-ur-Rehman

The JI leader says Karachi needs electric supply, water, health, education, job opportunities and transport facilities

Says MQM always bargained mandate of Karachi for monetary benefits, perks

KARACHI: January 02 : Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that Karachiites don’t ask for alms but for their due rights, including electricity supply, water, health, education, transport facilities and job opportunities.

The JI leader expressed these views while addressing Rebuild Liaquatabad Convention , here in Karachi. A large number of area residents, belonging to all walks of life attended the convention. JI leaders, including the former Town Nazim Farooq Nematullah and others also addressed the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the JI leader said that incapable and corrupt mafias under the disguise of political parties couldn’t resolve the issues of masses.

Addressing the Pakistan People Party supremo, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he challenged him to point out a single public sector school in Karachi, where the PPP leaders want to opt for admission of their children. This is the conclusion of the PPP’s policy for Karachi, he remarked.

Why the K-4 water supply project has not been completed during the past 15 years of the PPP’s rule in Sindh, Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman asked. He added that addition of incapability in further incapability and addition of zero into another zero produce the same results.

Talking about the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, he said that Karachi has never been on the agenda of the party. He added that the MQM facilitated the continuation of quota system and injustice to all Karachiites by notifying the flawed results of the last census in Karachi.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also did the same to Karachi and Karachiites. It seems the PTI leadership forgot Karachi after receiving votes from the dwellers of Karachi.

He also shed light in detail on the Zardari-Tessori doctrine and said that the doctrine was bound to fail as any supporter of Zardari would further loose it’s ground in the political arena of Karachi.

He said that the JI will be announcing it’s future course of action and strategy to handle the burning issues of Karachi and Karachiites at the Karachi Declaration Convention to be held by the JI on January 8 at Bag e Jinnah.

Engr Naeemur Rehman also shed light in detail on the contribution of the JI to the progress and development of the mega city. He vowed to continue the journey of progress of the city from the very point it was discontinued at the culmination of Nematullah Khan’s tenure as city nazim.
